Sweden is the biggest Scandinavian country. Swedish cheese, ABBA, H&M and fairy-tale winter conditions make it unique and significant place. There are 26 institutions providing higher academic education and all of them are publicly funded. Based on OECD statistics, 47.5% of Swedes are higher educated. Although EU citizens are exampled from paying academic fees, students who don’t meet this requirement have to fund their studies at universities. It is possible to apply for the various grants financed by Swedish Institute or Erasmus and also get funds from different university and bilateral scholarships. In Sweden, the rate of foreigners attending tertiary school is around 7.9%.
