Higher education in Mongolia came after the communist revolution in the 20th century, and purely this is based on the Soviet model. There are 48 public universities, and 72 private universities. All the higher education is provided free of charge if you are in public institutions, but students are expected to pay heavily in private universities, and the quality of education in private universities are seen as being low. More than 15,000 foreign students are here. Occasionally, the government provides scholarships for students with exceptional academic performance in private universities. When you graduate, feel free to look for jobs- there are very few jobs unless you studied professional courses.
