Trinity College Dublin, University of Dublin, is known in Irish as Ollscoil Átha Cliath. It is sometimes abbreviated as TCD. The campus is home to over 16,000 students who learn in fields that include Humanities, Science, Arts, Social Services, Engineering, Mathematics and Health.

Trinity College Dublin was established in 1311 by the reigning pope, but it isn't related to the current college. The college as it is known today was built after endowments and estates of land were secured for the school. The university grew in size and student enrollment, and it admitted women as full members beginning in 1904.
