The higher education in Colombia is highly recommendable. Students spend four years for Bachelor’s, two years for Master’s, and two to eight years for Doctorates. However, the education here is very expensive as well as the living costs. This is why some foreign students who don’t have little sources of income suffer. For those with little income, it is really hard to cope unless they can obtain a loan or scholarship. About 22% of the populations are in the high institutions, while international students are about 12,000. There are 31 public universities and 51 private universities – almost all these universities are equipped with modern technological gadgets. Some employers can give you work with or without work permit, but if you are looking for job in a government agency you must have a work permit.
