Peking University or PKU, in Beijing, China, is translated in simplified Chinese: 北京大学; traditional Chinese: 北京大學; and pinyin: Běijīng Dàxué. Peking University was established in 1898 during the period known as Hundred Days' Reform.  It was then known as the Imperial University of Peking. In 1920, they accepted their first female students. After the second world war, their enrollment grew to 3000.
