Monash University, usually referred to simply as Monash, is located in Melbourne, Australia. It was founded in 1958 and named after the Australian general, Sir John Monash. With an enrollment of over 17,000 students in graduate programs, Monash has more students (and more applicants) than any other university in Australia.

Monash offers programs in arts, art and design, education, business and economics, engineering, information technology, science, medicine, nursing, pharmacy and law. Monash also houses several major research departments, including the Monash Science Technology Research and Innovation Precinct (STRIP) and the Australian Stem Cell Center.
